BC Kingdom & MILA – Press Start EP
27 May |

Experimental L.A. duo BC Kingdom have teamed up with fellow L.A. native MILA (Jhene Aiko’s older sister) for a new collaborative EP. Premiered by i-D last week, the six-track Press Start EP is a slightly new direction for all parties involved. Equal parts sexy and experimental, you’d never guess this was MILA and BC Kingdom’s first time working together. Stream the entire EP, including the P. Morris produced Ninja, below and expect to hear more from this unconventional pairing soon.

Magic Fades ft. Shy Girls & Deniro Farrar – Ghost On ‘Em (Single)
21 May |

Portland-based production duo Magic Fades recruited fellow Oregonian Shy Girls and Charlotte rapper Deniro Farrar for new single, Ghost On ‘Em. Premiered by Pigeons & Planes, the erie, ominous tune has Deniro feeling right at home as he spits a few fiery verses while SG quietly croons in between. Not sure where this one will end up but I hope to hear more collabs like this from Magic Fades in the future.

ASTR – Activate Me (Single + Video)
21 May |

NYC-based boy/girl duo ASTR return for the first time in 2015 with a new single + video combo for their latest release, Activate Me. With a song premiere from Indie Shuffle and video premiere from Noisey, I’d say they are on the right track with this one. Inspired by early 90′s house music, it turns out Darkchild (Rodney Jerkins) liked the record (and ASTR) so much that he played around with the mix and injected some extra energy into it, resulting in what you hear below.

Deebs & Jarell Perry – Shift EP
21 May |

Toronto-based producer Deebs and LA-based singer/songwriter Jarell Perry have teamed up for a collaborative EP entitled Shift. Released earlier this week via Time No Place/Kompakt Records, the five-track EP is a 20 minute journey into the hazy, experimental side of modern R&B. Jarell Perry, who I first discovered on StarRo’s excellent Emotion EP earlier this year, puts on a killer vocal performance that commands your full attention. Stream another solid, under the radar release from the Time No Place crew below.

Nacho Picasso & 88 Ultra – The Witchtape (Mixtape)
15 May |

Earlier this week, 88 Ultra (Kingston of BSBD) and Nacho Picasso reunited to release a new project. Their 10-track mixtape features five new tracks with Nacho, in addition to the five instrumentals to go with them. With a few solid guest from Avatar Darko, Child Actor, and more, The Witchtape is a hybrid of 88 Ultra’s moody, orchestral instrumentals and Nacho’s explicit, drug-filled raps. Head below to stream The Witchtape in its entirety and hit the link to support these guys.

20syl – Motifs II EP
13 May |

French producer 20syl has been making beats since 1995 and most recently expanded on his sound and started a label, On And On Records. His latest release is the follow up to his debut EP, Motifs, which he self-released almost a year ago. On part II, 20syl continues to carve out his own unique sound and the proof is in the slow-burning Swimming Stone, which features guitar riffs reminiscent of early Ratatat. West Coast MC Fashawn drops in for a quick guest verse, giving you one more reason to check out 20syl’s new EP. Head below to watch the official video for Back & Forth and stream a few tracks from Motifs II.

Main Attrakionz – Ain’t No Other Way (Video)
12 May |

One of my most anticipated releases of the year, 808′s & Dark Grapes III, is right around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. Set for a June 30th release on Neil Young’s Vapor Records, 808′s III is entirely produced by Friendzone and will mark Main Attrakionz’s first full-length album since Bossalinis & Fooliyones came out almost three year ago. The Fader just premiered the MAz latest video for album cut, Ain’t No Other Way, which was directed by Kreayshawn. Watch it below.
