Alaya. – Issue 02 (Compilation)
16 April |

Recently stumbled upon a compilation from relatively unknown collective, Alaya., whose “sole desire is to promote artistry to the public” and “to provide our audience with the best content possible.” With that said, their Issue 02 compilation features a pretty impressive list of contributors, including Blackbird Blackbird, Bear//Face, Mothica, Lil’ Sad, Tommy Jacob, Flamingosis, Ruddyp, Carling Ruse, salute, El. Train, Losco and more. The 21-track compilation, which features all exclusive and unreleased music from the artists listed above, can be streamed/downloaded below for free.

Doja Cat – YEEEAH! (Single)
16 April |

L.A. songstress Doja Cat is back with a funky, upbeat new tune called YEEEAH! Featuring production by Lone, the original instrumental is titled New Colour and can be found on his Galaxy Garden album from 2012. Safe to say Lone’s production is the most dance-oriented backdrop I’ve heard Doja rap over yet. While Doja’s plans for 2015 are still fairly unknown, I’m looking forward to hearing more new music from her soon.

J-Louis & IAMNOBODI – Area Codes (Single)
14 April |

Los Angeles based drummer/producer J-Louis has quickly become one of my favorite new producers. He first caught my attention with the release of his White Label EP last year on Soulection. Since then, J-Louis has steadily been dropping gems, whether he’s contributing to a compilation or uploading a loosie to Soundcloud. Head below to listen to his latest single, Area Codes, which features a mean bass line and a little help from IAMNOBODI on chords.

Boogie – Oh My (Video)
10 April |

Listen to Oh My, a new heater from Long Beach rapper Boogie. Following the mellow, sunny day vibes on Further, Boogie unleashed the official video for the second single from his forthcoming album. With Jahlil Beats on production, this one is no joke. Keep an eye out for new album, The Reach, coming this summer.

React Presents: Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples & Remy Banks live in Chicago (Photos)
8 April |

Earl Sweatshirt’s Not Redy 2 Leave tour stopped in Chicago last week for a show at Concord Music Hall. Alongside Earl was Remy Banks, Vince Stapes and Black Noi$e (DJ) for support, making for an interesting night of off-beat, DIY hip-hop. When Earl finally took the stage, he performed a handful of early favorites, in addition to songs from his new album, I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside. Check out a few photos from the show below courtesy of David Rasool Robinson.

MondreM.A.N. – SipTape (Mixtape)
7 April |

MondreM.A.N. continues to purge the Main Attrakionz hard drives of old and unreleased music. He just dropped SipTape, a nine-track collection of loosies featuring production from Marlee B, AHYVE, Issue, Mackned and more. Standard fare for the most part, except Mondre raps over a few older instrumentals like T-Pain’s Bartender and Makonnen’s Tuesday. If you’re like me and want to add it to the collection, grab a free download below.

Haleek Maul – Kingdom Come (Single)
3 April |

Brooklyn rapper Haleek Maul returns with more new music produced by New York’s Shy Guy, featuring additional production from D.K.A.D. Not sure if Kingdom Come will appear on Maul’s forthcoming release, but either way this one slaps. Keep an eye out for his Prince Midas project, which is said to be coming out later this month.

KYWO – Pearl EP
3 April |

Experimental Chicago producer KYWO enlists Keiya, ShowYouSuck, Marcus Alan Ward and Sidewalk Kal for his latest project. FACT premiered the self-released Pearl EP earlier this week, which is said to be “connected by a cohesive sound rather than a specific genre.” Similar to past releases, KYWO is no stranger to collaboration and has a knack for recruiting the right vocalists to match his eclectic instrumentals. Listen to standouts Drive and New Devil, as well as the rest of his Pearl EP, below.
