Dreams. – Flyte EP
21 March |

Jesse Pimenta is originally from Rio De Janiero, Brazil but now resides in the states and makes funky, sample based future dance music under the alias Dreams. After Absent Fever picked up his debut “Feelings 4 U” EP for a re-release back in October, Dreams returns with his follow up EP, “Flyte”, released through the 6Bit Collective this time around. On “Flytes”, It’s obvious that Pimenta has not only polished his sound, but expanded on it as well. There are hints of deep house, retro funk and even hip-hop that weren’t present on “Feelings 4 U” that help upgrade Dreams overall sound. This really is dance music of the future and it’s damn good. The kind folks over at PORTALS were lucky enough to premiere Dreams new project and this is what he told them about his creative process for the EP:

My creative process for this EP came from digging in the crates more passionately than I ever have, listening to so many different artists and groups until they all started to blend together into this EP. Also, between the time of ‘Feelings 4 U’ being released’ and now, I’ve started collecting vintage hardware synths, so far a KORG DW-3000 and a Roland XV-3080, which you’ll hear a lot of on this EP. It really helped with matching the vibes of all the tracks. A big personal inspiration for this EP was producer Roy Ayers, one of the funk geniuses of the 70′s and 80′s“.
