The always generous Bay area production duo Friendzone have blessed us with another free download in anticipation of their full length LP, DX, which will be released through Brighton based label Donky Pitch later this year. Head below to stream new track Always, a bouncy, sample based kaleidoscope of sounds that should be a good indicator of what to expect from their forthcoming album. Expect more new music from Friendzone sooner than later.

Beloved Canadian super producer Ryan Hemsworth is prepping the release of a new EP, Still Awake, which will drop on his newly launched website next week. The folks over at Mixmag premiered the ambient first single, Perfectly, yesterday and announced a string of European tour dates that Hemsworth will kick off on May 29th in Copenhagen.

I have been following Parisian producer Andrea for quite some time now observing him release one off singles and free downloads via his Soundcloud page. Just a few months ago he helped form a new independent label/imprint by the name of Moose Records, and aside from an introductory compilation, Andrea’s Cruising EP serves as their first official release. Coming in at five tracks, there are three originals featuring appearances from Rejjie Snow and Julia Losfelt, in addition to two remixes from Sun Glitters and Slow Magic. I posted Let Me Go Up, the first single from 4llsouls & Chloe Martini’s joint EP when it caught my attention a few weeks ago. Now the entire four track Spare Love EP is available, which includes two collaborative efforts and an individual track from both 4llsouls and Chloe Martini. Toronto singer/producer Julian Cruz popped up again earlier this year with new track, Get Yours, which has since been removed from his Souncloud. When I posted that track back in February, I included a short teaser of him in the studio recording another new song. Turns out that song is called No Matter What and it can now be heard in full below in all its glory.

Finally got around to listening to Carried Away, a three way collaboration between Pittsburgh producer Tülpa, Florida producer Henry Krinkle and Leeds three piece, Atlas. Each artist puts their own unique touch on the track, tying the sound back to their musical roots and geographic location. Carried Away is a much welcomed experiment exploring sounds in house, garage and beyond, and it can be streamed and downloaded below free of charge.

To coincide with start of his headlining tour through out the West coast, L.A. super producer RL Grime just released an intense remix of his favorite rap song of 2012, Love Sosa. With a considerable amount of added bass, Grime has reworked Chief Keef’s hood anthem into a more dance floor friendly tune while keeping the meat and potatoes from the original in tact. Jump on any opportunity you can to catch RL Grime’s live set and you will be in for one of the most fun DJ sets out right now.

Baton Rouge based producer Suicideyear has popped up on my radar several times over the past year, mainly for his dark and drugged out remixes of popular tracks by Danny Brown, Lil’ Wayne & Birdman and Waka Flocka Flame. With help from the overseas homies at Southern Hospitality, Suicideyear just released his first official mixtape, Japan, which was executive produced by Wavriel and features 13 new instrumentals plus a nasty Travis Porter remix. Along with the mixtape is the official L.W.H. directed video for standout, Interest, a track that was premiered by Brodinski live on BBC Radio 1 a few weeks ago. SWTBRDS in house producer and frequent Green Ova collaborator Al Jieh has decided to round up a collection of his most recent instrumentals from the past several months and give them away for free. Meet Danny London, a 23 year old singer/songwriter from Cleveland whose soulful R&B music leans more towards the jazzier side of things. Known for his frequent collaborations with Cleveland rapper Treazon, London is switching the focus to his own music as he puts the finishing touches on his debut album, Finding Harmony, set for a late summer release. I’ve had the privilege of hearing a good portion of the album and I am excited for the rest of the world to hear it. For now, listen to London’s latest single, Hey Hey, which was produced by Freeze-Tag and is a good indication of what to expect from the rest of the LP.

It’s been a few months since our last guest mix and for that, I apologize. The good news is that the mix series is back on track with our sixth guest from Boston by way of Cleveland producer Urbindex. Ever since I witnessed Cashmere Cat drop his Miguel rework for the first time live at the LFTF SXSW day party in Austin, I have been fiending for the real thing. A low quality radio rip from the LuckyMe x Rinse FM show hosted by Eclair Fifi & The Blessings surfaced the following week but it still wasn’t enough. Well over a month later, we finally got our paws on the official CDQ version of his Do You… remix and it was well worth the wait.
