Keiya – Work EP
26 February | | electronic

Impressed by Chicago singer/producer Keiya’s debut EP, Work, which was self-released earlier this week. Aside from a standalone guest feature from Khallee (JODY), the five-track EP is entirely written and produced by Keiya herself. Written at the beginning of Chicago‚Äôs harsh winter, Workreflects on relationships during cold, dark days.” With no end to winter in sight, take this opportunity to stream Keiya’s EP in its entirety below.

Obey City ft. Anthony Flammia – Waterbed (Video)
25 February | | electronic

Following the release of his new EP earlier this week, Obey City partnered with Vice to premiere the official video for lead single, Waterbed. Featuring vocals from talented newcomer Anthony Flammia, the sultry single is just a sample of his Merlot Sounds EP, which also features contributions from Kelela, 1-O.A.K. and Eric Arc Elliot. Sam Gellaitry – Short Stories EP
25 February | | electronic

For their first proper release of the year, Soulection turns to 18 year old Scottish producer, Sam Gellaitry. The beats on his debut EP are certainly unconventional, helping to redefine the way one may classify electronic music going forward. Elements of hip-hop, R&B, and deep house are present throughout, making it difficult to put Sam’s style in a single category. I just call it good music. Stream and purchase a copy of his Short Stories EP through the link below.

Eaves – Projector (Single)
19 February | | electronic

XLR8R debuted another new song from New York producer Eaves’ forthcoming Hush Hush Records debut. Projector is much more experimental than the EP’s title track, which is a testament to the producers versatility. Part industrial rave tune, part ambient noise, Projector twists and transforms several times through out its 4 and 3/4 minutes. Hit the link below to preorder Eaves’ Hue EP ahead of its March 23rd release date.

Inc. – A Teardrop From Below (Single)
18 February | | electronic

Since releasing their debut LP in 2013, LA brothers Inc. have parted ways with 4AD and released their first piece of new music independently. New single A Teardrop From Below is a gentle, building ballad that picks up right where No World left off well over a year ago. No word on what’s next for the duo, but A Teardrop From Below is available for purchase on iTunes through the link below.

Gosh Pith – Prints (Single)
17 February | | electronic

New music from Detroit duo Gosh Pith is always welcomed. This time they took to Nylon for the premiere of their latest single. Prints is a lo-fi, garage-rock inspired tune that sounds like it was recorded in a wet basement late at night. Nice to hear the final version of this one after hearing them play it live a few times over the last few months. Looking forward to their debut EP, which is said to be coming in a few months.

Dre Green – Let Me Know (Single)
17 February | | electronic

I know I’m late on Let Me Know, the latest tune from Chicago’s Dre Green, but it’s too good not to post. With Jeremiah Meece (The-Drum) handling production duties, Dre confronts her significant other to let him know she’s ready to cut the bullshit and get to the point. Crazy to hear how much Dre has grown since her Only One EP came out last August. Stay tuned for more new music from Dre and the Lo Motion crew coming soon.

Rahel – Alkali (Album)
16 February | | electronic

New York City singer/songwriter Rahel quietly released her debut album last week and it deserves your attention. With Jeremiah Meece (The-Drum) handling executive production duties, Alkali flows from start to finish across ten tracks. Label mates Le1f and Don Christian make guest appearances throughout, along with Chicago’s Khallee (JODY). Rahel’s polished voice layered over top swirling, unconventional production gives a whole new meaning to R&B in 2015 and you can thank the folks at Camp & Street/Lo Motion. Stream Rahel’s Alkali LP below.

Jakarta Records – Winter In Jakarta (Compilation)
12 February | | electronic

Berlin based label Jakarta Records always comes correct and their latest release is no exception. Following last year’s Summer In Jakarta compilation, Winter In Jakarta features many of the same artists and similar vibes throughout. The 14-track compilation includes contributions from Like (Pac Div), Oddisee, Mura Masa, Stwo, Benny Sings, IAMNOBODI, Suff Daddy, L’Orange and many more. M/\Z – The Prologue (Single)
10 February | | electronic

After initially hearing Cleveland songstress M/\Z on Corey Grand’s single, Alchemy, I’m excited to learn that she will be releasing her debut EP later this year. Listen to new single, The Prologue, which has been simply described as “an anecdote of a hazy love affair.” Grab a free download of the MadBliss-produced track below and stay tuned for more info on M/\Z’s forthcoming Aquatones EP.

Lil’ Sad – Threw It Away (Single)
9 February | | electronic

Listen to new music from the saddest producers around, Lil’ Sad. Bubbling new track Threw It Away is full of glitches and quirky vocal samples, sounding like early Balam Acab injected with more bass. Lil’ Sad recently released a new EP on cassette titled Vol. 2 via Anti-Party music, but it’s already sold out. Threw It Away didn’t make the cut, so think of it as a consolation prize for those who missed out.
