Continuing the streak of new visuals from The Patriarch, Deniro releases a video for the Ryan Hemsworth produced Big Tookie, with Anthony Supreme handling director duties as usual. Evil Needle – Qualia (Album)
13 May | | mixtape

French producer Evil Needle experiments with sounds ranging from downtempo, soul, hip-hop, electro and just about everything in between on his latest album, Qualia. Released on Huh What & Where Recordings, the 13 track instrumental album delivers a fresh palette of synth and drum sounds, along with a couple very welcomed collaborations. Most notable is Intrepidity, a brain rattling tune featuring co-production from Hawaii’s Mr. Carmack, whose presence is hard to overlook thanks to the neck snapping snares. With another feature from Freddie Joachim, the rest of the album rides very smoothly while offering a unique variety of sounds and moods. Suicideyear – Japan (Mixtape)
2 May | | mixtape

Baton Rouge based producer Suicideyear has popped up on my radar several times over the past year, mainly for his dark and drugged out remixes of popular tracks by Danny Brown, Lil’ Wayne & Birdman and Waka Flocka Flame. With help from the overseas homies at Southern Hospitality, Suicideyear just released his first official mixtape, Japan, which was executive produced by Wavriel and features 13 new instrumentals plus a nasty Travis Porter remix. Along with the mixtape is the official L.W.H. directed video for standout, Interest, a track that was premiered by Brodinski live on BBC Radio 1 a few weeks ago. Watch the video for Interest and stream/download Japan in its entirety below.

Western Tink & Beautiful Lou – Drawn (Video)
25 April | | mixtape

With help from director French Films, Tink and Lou bring album cut Drawn to life in the second video from their joint mixtape. Drawn is the closest thing to a love song you’ll find on Mobbin’ No Sobbin’ but don’t get it twisted, this track is far from soft. In fact, this is one of the grimiest beats on the tape, which is saying a lot when Lou is behind the boards. MNS is still available for streaming/download below for those of you that are about that life.

MondreM.A.N. – Ha Haaaa (Video)
18 April | | mixtape

1/2 of the best duo ever and Nem270 connected on the silky smooth, Ha Haaaa, back in February for Mondre’s Cloudd Packk mixtape and they just released the video to accompany it. Director Guy Blelloch did a good job of aligning the visuals with Nem’s mellow, soulful instrumental while keeping the MAz signature lo-fi aesthetic in mind. Check out Mondre’s Cloudd Packk tape below if you missed it.

B. Lewis – Finding Incandescence
11 April | | mixtape

San Jose native B. Lewis has been one of my favorite new producers on the low for a minute now, specifically after his flawless Egg Black EP with vocalist Miles Bonney. As far as solo material, Lewis has been self releasing mixtapes and EP’s since early 2009 with his latest project dropping last week. Finding Incandescence features 15 messy, soulful beats that range anywhere from experimental electronic to more southern leaning, bass heavy bangers. Stream Finding Incandescence in its entirety below and hit the link to make a purchase.

Soulection – Time In Between (Compilation)
9 April | | mixtape

Without a doubt one of my favorite labels at the moment, Joe Kay and the Soulection family are constantly spreading love through out the web by putting me on to great new beat music from around the world. Following the release of Atu’s Pictures On Silence, Soulection dropped the follow up to their first compilation, which also happened to be the very first official release on the label. Time In Between is the title and it features all new music from the likes of Ta-Ku, Evil Needle, Sweater Beats, Lakim, Sango, Sivey, Bosstone, Teebs, Holygrailers, plus more, and documents the drastic level of growth many of these producers have gone through since the birth of Soulection. Time In Between can be streamed in full and purchased for a measly $10 through the link below.
